“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
When we are afraid, Scripture tell us it is not of God. We fear failure and naturally evil and death. However a spirit of fear can be replaced with God’s spirit of power and love and a sound mind. We must surrender control. This favorite verse is a balm to me as I have to admit my fears, my failures and my desire for control. I want power, love and a sound mind. Why do I entertain fear? I thereby give the evil one a foothold. God, have mercy on me and give me your spirit.
