CAPC Oakland Lenten Community Devotional

Lent Header

In our church community here at College Avenue Presbyterian Church we’re deepening our experience of what it means to be connected, intertwined in community based upon a shared faith and practicing a common spirituality.  Throughout the season of Lent, a 40 day (or 6 weeks not counting the Sundays) time of spiritual preparation preceding Easter, we’re going to be together creating a daily devotional with comments, sharing and ideas of church community members sharing around favorite scriptures and/or stories from the Bible accompanied with a 100 word or less interpretive description.

This will be published each day on this blog.  There will also be a paper copy for non-inter-web-people copied and available for pick up each week at our regular Sunday gathering.

Monte thanks in advance everyone for their contribution.  For some this was easy, for others quite challenging to articulate.  For everyone involved it’s a great risk-taking, a baring of the soul as we practice together what it means to be human throughout the season of Lent which leads up to contemplate the broken, suffering divinity of Jesus the Christ.
