This Sunday – November 3rd – be sure to bring a photo of memento of (a) loved-one(s) to place on our communion table/Saints’ altar as we celebrate the mystery of the resurrection and the great cloud of witnesses as we gather for worship & communion next week. This is our annual celebration of both Dia de los Muertos and All Saints’ Day. It’s a way for us to remember those that have gone before us in faith – our spiritual ancestors – and our family members – recognizing the roles which they played in our lives as people, as a community and as disciples.
You’re invited to place these keepsakes and visual memories on the communion table during our gathering songs in worship as we “set” the table together, remembering those who’ve gone before us.
Don’t worry we won’t keep them –
you can recuperate them after the service!
Here’s an example of what a Day of the Dead table can look like
