Christmas Eve @ CAPC Oakland

Celebrate Christmas Eve with us here at CAPC!

Our 5:00 pm service will be no longer than 40 minutes, created with families and younger children in mind.  A retelling of the story of Christmas in song, readings and also an impromptu Christmas pageant.  Rarely do we have the time in our urban schedules to practice for the traditional Christmas play – at the heart of this service is a on – the – spot pageant including costumes!

Our 7:00pm service is our traditional service with lessons and carols (that’s an old way of saying, we’ll alternately hear bits of the Christmas Story and sing Christmas Carols).  The service ends with Silent Night sung by candle light in our beautifully decorated Sanctuary.   This is a unique time to experience and embody the Christmas message that the light has come into the world, and we are sent to reflect it in all that we do.  Katarina Stendstedt will be leading us in the music.  This service lasts roughly an hour.
