Godly Play during the service for children K-6th grade

We’re starting a new weekly service meeting each Sunday at 5:00pm.  The idea behind it all is not to repackage church to spice it up, appeal to hipsters, or use post-modern language.  The goal is to create a space in which we can journey together as a community gathered with a common desire to name God’s presence in those places of paradox and mystery in our lives and life together.

Rather than looking to an expert to tell us what God is doing it’s about looking together through spiritual practices to see where we might glimpse the Divine Presence in our world.  Rather than seeing faith as a litmus test of orthodox beliefs to which one must subscribe, the intention is to  cultivate faith a a spiritual practice of mindfulness in all that we do, say and are.  If this interests you come and try out our new service – aiming to use the language of experience and practice to name those spaces God inhabits and to which the Divine wants to move us.

About capcoakland

We are a community of faith seeking to live God's will together: that space where the passions of our hearts and the needs of the world meet in our context of Berkeley, Oakland and Piedmont. Our perspective is based from a Christian center, open to the mystery of God's presence in our world. Our core values are celebration, community & prayer. This blog is our avenue for program updates and information.
